Sportync Tech Private Limited ("Sportync", "we", "us", or "our") operates the Sportync web platform (https://www.sportync.com) and the SportYNC mobile application ("the App"). This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding the collection, use, disclosure, and protection of personal data in full compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act, India) and applicable Google Play Store User Data Policies.

By registering for an account, accessing our website, or using our mobile application, you acknowledge and agree to the data collection and practices described in this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

A. Account & Identification Information

To provide personalized coaching, academy enrollments, and secure authentication, we collect:

• Phone Number: Collected to securely sign you into the application using a One-Time Password (OTP).
• Full Name & Profile Information: To create your user profile, manage roles (Learner, Coach, Academy Admin), and customize your experience.
• Email Address: For transaction receipts, official notifications, and account recovery.
• Academy & Batch Data: Information about sports programs, batches enrolled, session timings, and coaches.

B. Location Information (Prominent Disclosure)

When you use the SportYNC mobile app, we request your permission to access your device's approximate (ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION) and precise (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION) location.

Purpose: Your location is collected strictly while the app is in the foreground to discover sports academies, training facilities, and coaching batches near your current location.

Background Location: We DO NOT track or collect your location when the app is closed or running in the background. You can grant or revoke location permissions at any time via your device settings.

C. Camera, Photos & Attendance Verification

With your explicit permission, our mobile app may access your device camera and selected photos:

• Attendance Verification: The camera is used to capture a face scan or photo to record attendance at your sports academy.
• Profile Photos: You may select photos from your device to set as your profile avatar.
• Storage Access Notice: On Android 13 and above, we use the system photo picker which does not grant broad file access. Legacy storage permissions are restricted to Android 12 and below.

D. Payments and Financial Data

When you enroll in academy batches or pay fees, transactions are processed by our PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway partner, Razorpay.

Sportync receives transaction confirmation status, transaction ID, and amount paid. We DO NOT store your credit card numbers, CVVs, debit card PINs, or net banking passwords on our servers.

E. Push Notifications and Device Data

We use Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to deliver push notifications for class schedules, attendance updates, batch announcements, and fee reminders.

• FCM Device Tokens: Collected to route push notifications to your specific device.
• Diagnostic and Usage Data: IP address, device model, operating system version, and crash logs to ensure app performance and stability.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following legitimate business purposes:

• To authenticate users via phone number and OTP.
• To display nearby sports academies, grounds, and training sessions based on location.
• To verify training attendance and track player performance.
• To process enrollment payments and maintain billing history.
• To communicate important service updates, schedule alterations, and reminders.
• To diagnose bugs, protect security, and prevent fraudulent activity.

4. Information Sharing & Third-Party Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We disclose data solely under the following circumstances:

• Academies & Coaches: Information such as learner name, attendance status, and batch enrollment is shared with the specific academy or coach you train with.
• Service Providers: Trusted infrastructure and payment vendors (e.g., Razorpay for payments, Firebase for notifications and analytics, cloud hosting providers) under strict confidentiality agreements.
• Legal Compliance: When required by applicable law, court order, or government regulation.

5. Data Retention & Security

We apply industry-standard administrative, physical, and technical safeguards to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. All communications between the app, web portal, and servers are encrypted using modern Transport Layer Security (TLS/HTTPS).

We retain your personal data for as long as your account remains active or as necessary to provide services and comply with financial and legal obligations.

6. User Rights & Account/Data Deletion

You have the right to access, review, modify, or permanently delete your personal information held by Sportync.

How to Delete Your Account: You can request immediate deletion of your account and all associated personal data at any time by visiting our dedicated Account Deletion page (https://www.sportync.com/account-deletion) or by emailing support@sportync.com with your registered phone number.

Upon receiving your request, we permanently delete or anonymize your profile, attendance photos, and authentication credentials within 30 days, retaining only transaction records required by financial laws.

7. Children's Privacy

Our services include coaching and sports training programs for learners who may be minors (under 18 years of age).

Account creation, enrollments, and payments for minors must be supervised and authorized by a parent or legal guardian. If you are a parent or guardian and believe we have collected personal data from a child without appropriate consent, please contact support@sportync.com for prompt deletion.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy and by displaying an in-app notice or website banner.
